And the advance of science and technology

Science emerged as a result of the activities to meet the needs of human life, both physical needs and spiritual needs. The main objective is the development of science and technology change the future of human life better, easier, cheaper, faster and safer. Development of science and technology in Indonesia lags far and very poor compared to European countries and the United States as well even in Asian countries such as Japan and China. This is because:

Indonesia is still limited people who received western education, especially higher education.
Lack of willingness from the government and private companies in Indonesia to conduct technology experts
The absence of significant technological innovation within Indonesian society itself, science and technology in Indonesia began to develop which marked the Dangan colleges and research centers such as the Institute of Science (LIPI) and the assessment body and the application of technology (BPPT)
Positive impact of science and technology development :

PERKEMBANGAN DUNIA IT

Perkembangan IT bermula apabila Generasi Komputer Digital wujud. Generasi

pertama wujud pada tahun 1951-1958. Pada ketika itu tiub vakum telah digunakan

sebagai elemen logik utama. Input terhadap komputer menggunakan kad tebuk dan

data disimpan dengan menggunakan storan luaran. Storan dalamannya pula

menggunakan drum magnetik. Aturcara ditulis dalam bahasa mesin dan bahasa

himpunan.

Generasi Kedua (1959-1963) menggantikan tiub vakum dengan transistor sebagai

elemen logik utama. Pita magnetik dan cakera pula telah menggantikan kat tebuk

dan bertindak sebagai peralatan storan luaran. Bahasa pengaturcaraan aras tinggi

digunakan untuk membuat aturcara seperti FORTRAN dan COBOL.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) berdiri pada tahun 1964, atas
prakarsa tokoh-tokoh dan Pimpinan Daerah Muhammadiyah Malang. Pada waktu itu,
Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang merupakan cabang dari Universitas
Muhammadiyah Jakarta, yang didirikan oleh Yayasan Perguruan Tinggi
Muhammadiyah Jakarta dengan akte Notaris R. Sihojo Wongsowidjojo di Jakarta
No.71 tanggal 19 Juni 1963 berdasarkan Gouvernement Besluit Nomor 81 tanggal 22
Agustus 1914.
